Dit is een Nederlandstalige site over verborgen gebeurtenissen die belangrijk kunnen zijn geweest voor de verdere loop van de geschiedenis. Het Emergente Universum (EU) gaat over de 'opkomst' van fenomenen in de kosmos, het leven op aarde en de (overwegend westerse) cultuur met als leidraad de geschiedenis van de tijdmeting. Wetenschappelijke artikelen worden afgewisseld door romantische reflecies, karikaturale columns en historsche vertellingen. De gebruikte lettertypes (functioneel) worden niet altijd ondersteund door kleine apparaten (een groot scherm is hoe dan ook prettiger lezen van lange teksten). De menu-functie (linksboven) moet meerdere malen worden ingedrukt om teksten uit de LEESMAP te bekijken.

De inhoud van het Emergente Universum is geen alledaagse kost. Haar strekking dient specifiek ter verzadiging van een bepaald soort geestelijke honger. Huisdetective Sarimanok ziet toe op een smakelijke DIS - om dezelfde beeldspraak te gebruiken - door het verband tussen mentale gezondheid en darmflora zeker te stellen.* Lekker eten stimuleert het geestelijk welzijn!
Het is raadzaam om hier niet te lang te blijven rondhangen. De Sarimanok houdt zich ergens schuil, maar waar precies weet niemand.

The mother of all questions is “What is the meaning of existence?” To answer that question – without pretending to know the correct answer; though incorrect answers are also part of reality – it must be clear what ‘existence’ is and what one means by ‘meaning’.
Existence, or everything that is, is known as ‘being’ (as a defined part of the boundless ‘being’ according to ontology). For centuries, philosophers have been trying to fathom the (true) meaning of ‘being’ and ‘existence’, and they continually inspire new generations of thinkers who believe they know better. All in all, it boils down to the fact that a thought (perception of reality) is converted into words (language) and thus becomes a semantic (linguistic) projection of the presumed world.
The meaning of life, reason for being, or pupose of existence is an even more subjective concept that everyone concerns. It is very much a part of a person’s cultural, religious and educational background; for some, only a secondary consideration; for others, a crucial guiding principle.
You can view existence as a series of causal events without any sense of purpose, but for many people this is unsatisfying. By fulfilling the need for autonomy, competence and connectedness, you can only create a self-centred goal of happiness without having to take into account the needs of those who think differently. It makes more sense to also care for the community, the earth and the world. The meaning of life is thus a constant search for the self, the world around us and a sense of responsibility.
